To receive Autism Awareness Certification from Missing Piece Awareness Inc., the following criteria must be met:
80% of customer-facing employees trained in:
- An understanding of the autism diagnosis
- What autism may look like and potential archetypes or patterns
- How Autism Spectrum Disorder may limit full involvement or require modifications in service in that particular establishment
- Strategies, tools, modifications and methods that may be used specific to that business that will heighten the comfort level and provide a positive experience for all customers
All trainings include an in-depth assessment to ensure that all staff are ready to employ the practices set forth.
Certified business will also ensure that evaluation feedback questionnaire cards, provided by Missing Piece Awareness, are available to all customers.
Certification for Multi-location and Franchise Companies
For businesses or corporations with multiple locations, 80% of employees in each site must be trained either through onsite, hands on training designed and customized specifically for that organization that includes an assessment of understanding.
All businesses/corporations with multiple locations require that upper management, such as regional directors, district managers, territory directors, training managers or similarly designated staff be trained in with a more intensive and comprehensive training for maximum benefit. This enables upper management to effectively implement and execute the policies and protocols created by the company and Missing Piece Awareness in order to assure that the program is successfully carried out with fidelity.
The certification process for some corporations may require additional time to facilitate every site to meet the certification requirements in order to qualify each site to be listed on the website and other marketing materials as a “Certified Business” when the criteria has been fulfilled.
With Missing Piece Awareness certification, we want to empower the businesses to have access to the most updated methods, best practices and modifications on an annual basis. We provide yearly re-certification updates to all businesses that are accredited.
All businesses require yearly live training, as determined by businesses size, and a commitment to maintaining accurate records of employees who received training.
